Gavin Humphries
Gavin Humphries worked in news and current affairs media for companies such as the BBC and Talk Radio before becoming Editor of the Pink Paper, the youngest editor of a national newspaper in the UK. Moving on to spend five years as a Talent Agent, he represented actors, writers and directors in film, TV and theatre in both Europe and the United States.
Pursuing his passion for cinema, Gavin completed the MA Producing course at the UK’s National Film and Television School in 2006 and while there gained further experience within the industry at Pathe, Celador Films and BBC Fiction Lab. At the NFTS, Gavin produced the short films ELA (Dir. Silvana Aguirre Zegarra. Final Shortlist for the 2008 Short Film Oscar®) and 1977 (Dir. Peque Varela. Sundance, Clermont Ferrand 2008). Between them, both films have won 23 international awards and have been selected at over 200 festivals.
In addition to producing, Gavin’s served on juries at festivals such as Donostia San Sebastian and lectures film business at universities and film schools. He was recently selected for the EAVE European Producers Workshops.
