About
Quark Films was founded in 2006 by Anna Higgs and Gavin Humphries, producers who met whilst on the MA course at London’s National Film and Television School. Quark’s passion is for telling stories – be that through fiction, documentary or animation, in films, television and digital platforms. At the heart of this passion are the talented filmmakers that we work with – always striving to support them in their vision, giving the creative and practical support to communicate their stories effectively whatever the medium and whatever the audience.
Since founding, Quark have enjoyed numerous successes, including being named as ‘Stars of Tomorrow 2007’ by industry paper Screen International – joining such filmmakers as Andrea Arnold, Mia Bays, Simon Ellis, Abi Morgan, Ashley Walters and Jamie Johnson. Our films have competed at hundreds of festivals worldwide including Sundance, London, Chicago, Annecy, Edinburgh, Drama in Greece, IDFA, Sheffield Doc/Fest and been nominated for, and won, dozens of awards.
Quark works proactively across development, production, education and consultancy to provide a sustainable base from which to create and collaborate on innovative work for all platforms.
